Byck Elementary PTA President: Stephanie Brown
My name is Stephanie Brown and I am thrilled to be the President of the Byck PTA! I am originally from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, but my adventures with Kevin, my husband of 14 years, took us to Germany and his hometown of Buffalo before we finally landed here in Kentucky. After five years of small town life in Bardstown, we moved back to Louisville where we live with our three children John, Joe, and Julianna and one large dog named Gracie. John, now an ninth-grader at Noe Middle School, graduated from Byck and my younger children are in the third and fifth grade at Byck. In addition to my work on the Byck PTA, I have also served as a Parent Representative on the SBDM Council at Byck for the last two years and am starting my forth year as the Fall-Festival Chair on the Noe PTSA Board. I work full-time at Delta Dental of Kentucky and will begin attending University of Louisville in the fall. I am so excited about the coming year and all of the marvelous ways that we will grow together as a community at Byck!
Stephanie also chairs the Literacy Committee and has committed to enhancing our library and classroom book selections.
VP-Ways & Means: Kassi Clifford

Kassi Clifford, 34 was born in Ogden, Utah as Kassi Earle and was raised in a family of five children. Her mother was a ceramics instructor and her father a photographer. She learned very early on the importance of creative arts. As a young adult, Kassi explored the country moving from Utah to Washington, D.C., to Seattle, Washington to Honolulu, Hawaii to Las Vegas, Nevada. She studied Pre-Law in Las Vegas and later became part of the Pre-Vet program at UNLV when she realized her love for animals was stronger than her gift in arbitration. Kassi has always been an avid horror movie and haunted house fan and decided to explore her creative side further into this outlet by designing a Millennium Mayhem themed haunted house in Salt Lake City, Utah. She searched inspiration and guidance at a Halloween convention in Chicago in 1999 where she met her husband--Haunted Attraction Owner and Consultant, Allan Clifford. Two years later they married in Honolulu, Hawaii and have since raised a beautiful family here in the Middletown area of Louisville, Kentucky. They own and have ran several fun local haunted attractions such as Nightmare Forest, Waverly Hills and the children inspired indoor Halloween Fun Dome, Booville. While Vet school was put on hold for her family, Kassi remained an avid animal rescue supporter, volunteering her time to several wonderful organizations such as Keepers of the Wild, Creasy Mahan Nature Preserve, and has also served as co-chair of the local event, The Furball, benefiting Pet Groups United-a collaboration of Kentuckiana animal welfare agencies and has most recently been assisting local Camp Hi-Ho with their "Pet Barn" adoptions for rescued pets. Kassi is also a mural artist who loves to paint children's murals, rooms and furniture. She pursues anything creative such as crafts, art, design, jewelry making, cooking, etc. to continue her need for creative growth. She loves to create things with her children and teach them to get their hands right in the mix with her in anything she does. She is a free spirit that loves to have fun and play and wants to help anyone with a voice smaller than hers (children and animals). She is a member an advocate for children's groups such as Darkness to Light, Parents for Megan's Law and SOC-UM. Kassi has also been most recently involved with the establishment of the playground at Byck, chairs the Playground Committee, and has made it her personal goal to get Byck the playground it deserves. Kassi believes all children deserve to have the best childhood possible and will help as many kids as she can to have just that. Kassi is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her children, Logan (8) Cayleigh (6), Gabriel (5) Avery L (their angel in waiting) and her newest addition, Baby Vicoria Lee are her life and she lives and breathes to protect and enrich their lives. Her family is so very grateful to be part of a great family at Byck and hopes to get to know even more of the great families at the school.
"We are establishing our children's educational and social roots here at Byck and are eternally grateful for the love and support we have been so lucky to receive so far." -Kassi Clifford
Kassi also created and designed the Byck PTA website as well as handles any maintenance and revisions to the site.
David Drummond is a single father of two and lives within walking distance from the school in the Russell Neighborhood. David has been an asset to the PTA and has served in many capacities from volunteering on Popcorn & Pickle Fridays (almost every week!) to reading to the classrooms, maintaining our new Playground and most recently, chairing the newest committee, The Dad's Club. David currently works in Landscaping Design and plans to play a major role in the design/layout of our upcoming garden area and "Walk of Hope" brick pave way surrounding the garden. David assisted in the installation of Phase One of the playground and plans to help out in any way for Phase Two and Three. David recognizes the importance of being an active father in his children's education. We cannot wait to see more of David's many talents.

As you can see, we still have several board positions to fill as well as there are still several positions on Committees (Gardening, Waldorf Enrichment, Dad's Club and Playground) as well as the need for Friday morning Popcorn & Pickle Volunteers and Classroom Parents. If you are interested in any of these, please contact us and let us know! Resolve to get involved! As I continue to add bio's for each of the board members, take the time to get to know them, know that they acre about each and every family and staff member at Byck. Tell them about ways you would like to help or just tell them they are doing a great job! These people dedicate so many hours to the school...please do what you can to help support their efforts. Share with them your concerns or ideas. It takes a strong PTA to raise the experiences at a school for the children and staff-do what you can to help!
