Our Fall Catalog Fundraiser will kick off Friday, September 18 with an assembly detailing it @ 10 a.m. Please do everything you can to help support this school wide fundraiser. Not only will the winning children get to have an awesome day with a lunch/limo ride with Principal, but the school will benefit tremendously! Every penny raised will go right back into the school with amazing new wishes being granted by the students, teachers and parents here at Byck!
Spring fundraising was in full swing the past two weeks with Byck Students selling Signature Catalog items as well as yummy Cookie Dough! Last season, I encouraged those of you who have not particpated in the past, thinking "there is no way we can sell all these items to win these prizes" or whatever the reason had been. I asked, even if you can order or sell just one item each, we can make a REAL difference. I have to say THANK YOU to those of you that heeded that advice. Our Spring fundraiser actually raised MORE than the fall (which is not traditional at all, usually the Spring fundraisers are relatively small). We sold $6565.25! With our 50% profit, that means we profited $3282.62! Our goal to raise the rest of the funds necessary was $3000!! GREAT JOB!! Please go to the Playground News page for more updates on the build of Phase Two coming this SPRING!

Gift Avenue is a great Holiday Boutique for your children to be able to shop for the family members, teachers and friends! Most items are under $5 and it is a great way for the students to be able to feel they were able to buy gifts for those that they love on their own (especially mom & dad!) We'll send home special envelopes allowing you to give your child a budget for each person on their list and then they get to find something special for those they love! It teaches the children about thinking of others, planning & budgeting, and gives them a sense of independence knowing they are able to choose the gifts themselves. This is a great new venture that also supports the school and the great programs at Byck. Please do what you can to support it, we could use volunteers to staff it, and always ask that as a parent you do what you can to financially support it. We feel this will be a very special fundraiser that the children will really enjoy!

Be one of the first to sport the newest in Byck Uniform fashion, the Byck Spirit Shirt...showcasing all the great highlighs of Byck Elementary. These are the most colorful choices for your kids (or you) to sport of Byck attire, and they are uniform-friendly so you can wear them anyday! Click here to download and print an order form (disregard the dates, they are still available), there is artwork of what is on the shirts on the order form so you can see what they look like. The kids absolutely LOVE them! Return it in your child's backpack, and we will sent them home with a new shirt within days (depending on the size availability!) This purchase supports the gardening program, the playground, and other outdoor/nature programs and field trips!
The PTA made the decision to try something new and switch from our usual Candle sales to a catalog filled with a variety of different items that should reach out to more individual and family interests. After completeing the fundraiser, we are happy to say that we raised over $5600! We wanted to thank EVERYBODY that took part in that fundraiser and remind those who didn't that even if your child cannot sell several items in the catalog, that if ALL students sold even ONE item each, we would have raised so much more! So please, the next time you see a fundraiser come home...if you can buy or sell even just ONE item, you can make a difference in helping us get Phase Two of our Playground built by 2009! We have seen such sheer joy from Phase One...we simply cannot wait another year for Phase Two, the kids need more...and we can give it to them if we all chip in...even a little bit. So please, don't look and say, "we'll never sell a ton of this stuff, so why bother?"...instead simply do what you can and know that you made a difference. If we all work together, we can accomplish our goals in the strength of numbers uniting!
